COVID-19 Response Campaign
The mission of Gleaners Food Bank is to provide food and resources to people who are hungry in the Quinte region. With the continued public health concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, we wanted to share some safety precautions.
Gleaners Food Bank will continue to operate. Additional safety precautions are being implemented to protect staff, volunteers and the community we serve. We ask for your patience as we initiate best practices and protective changes. We will continue to provide updates during this process.
Please be informed that this outbreak is a respiratory illness similar to influenza. Signs of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) are fever, shortness of breath, cough. Be aware of general safety precautions that you would normally perform during flu season. Misinformation about COVID-19 abounds. We strongly encourage you to continue to refer to credible sources of information about the spread of COVID-19 as well as guidance on how to respond.
Tips for staying healthy include:
-Staying home if you are sick or feel any symptoms starting to occur
-Please wash your hands regularly ( at least 20 seconds) and use hand sanitizer in public areas
-Maintain general good health practices
-Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing using your arm and not your hands
-Practice good hygiene habits by not touching your mouth, eyes or mouth with your hands
Our volunteers and staff wish to continue serving those within our community and will continue to do so with a safe and healthy manner. Our services are imperative to this community and we wish to ensure that our volunteers, staff and clients are taking appropriate precautions at this time.
Thank you for caring,
President, Gleaners Food Bank (Quinte) Inc.
